THE CLASS: Welcome to Mrs. Butler's Early Civilizations History class. Among the early civilizations we will be studying are: early man, Ancient Egypt, Ancient India, Ancient China, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. We will learn about the histories of these cultures by reading, completing projects, building our vocabulary, and using games and plays as learning tools.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:

1. Respect - Treat people and things with respect.

2. Prepared - Come to class with pen and pencils, binder and paper, and any homework or assignments we are working on or are due.

3. ASK FOR HELP - Ask questions when you have them. Use resources provided - outlines, notes, study cards - when doing homework, completing projects, and studying for tests.

4. NO GUM, FOOD, OR DRINKS IN CLASS.

ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS:

Students will be completing work in class. They will also receive a minimal amount of homework. (Homework will be posted on the Pacific calendar on School Loop.) Late assignments will be graded down one letter grade for every day they are late. Students will receive study tools for tests. We will review for tests extensively in class. If students earn a D or less on any tests, they may retake the test within on week to raise their grade to a C. You can track your student's grades on PowerSchool.
